The exception was in the Hebron area where temperatures were still warm enough for rain. It was cold and windy with north winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts between 30 and 40 mph. At 800 AM CDT...Weather Service radar showed a large area of mainly snow across south central Nebraska and north central Kansas...along and north of highway 36. Movement was to the northeast at 45 mph. Light snow will continue to fall through 10 AM...but snow will diminish from Lexington to Ord...and light rain in and around Hebron will change to snow. Over north central Kansas...snow will expand and begin falling across Rooks...Osborne...and Mitchell counties. Temperatures will hold steady or fall into the lower 30s. North winds will remain at 20 to 25 mph...with gusts of 30 to 35 mph at times.
