At 236 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms along a line extending from Kenbridge to 7 miles northeast of Boydton to near Hitesburg, moving east at 30 mph. These storms may produce brief periods of heavy rain with rain totals of a quarter to half an inch with locally heavier amounts near 1" through 330 PM. Locations impacted include... South Hill, Lawrenceville, Kenbridge, McKenney, Brodnax, Brunswick, Lunenburg, Clarksville, La Crosse, Boydton, Alberta, Dundas, Nelson, Bacons Fork, Cochran, Wilburn, Beechwood, Gills Corner, Dolphin and Bowens Corner. Motorists should use extra caution in the vicinity of these storms... and be prepared for rapid changes in weather and road conditions. Heavy rain could cause ponding of water on roads...and possible minor flooding of ditches and poor drainage areas.
