Hot and humid conditions persisted across the entire area except for the Lake Michigan shoreline. At 532 pm, radar indicated thunderstorms developing in a band from north-central to west central Wisconsin. The main line of storms extended from near Eagle River, to just east of Eau Claire, to near La Crosse. The storms were moving northeast at 30 mph. The storms are expected to become more numerous as they shift east across the area during the late afternoon and evening hours. The strongest storms will be capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts. Anyone outdoors during the evening should plan ahead and be prepared to quickly move to a place of safety when the storms arrive. As a rough estimate, storms should reach the Rhinelander area a little after 600 pm, the Wausau and Stevens Point areas around 700 pm, the Appleton, Oshkosh, and Green Bay areas between 800 pm and 900 pm, and the lakeshore around 1000 pm.
