...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AKDT SUNDAY ALONG THE 
LOWER KUSKOKWIM RIVER FROM BETHEL TO THE MOUTH OF THE RIVER...

* WHAT...Minor flooding caused by storm surge along the coast and 
  winds backing up flow along the Lower Kuskokwim River is likely.

* WHERE...Along and near the lower Kuskokwim River from Bethel to 
  the mouth of the Kuskokwim River, related tributaries and low 
  lying areas including: Bethel, Napakiak, and nearby Tundra 
  villages.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM AKDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding of low-lying areas is likely during times 
  of high tide on Sunday. River bank erosion is also possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 317 PM AKDT, water levels have peaked with high tide today
    and are falling along the Lower Kuskokwim River. However,
    southwesterly winds across the Kuskokwim Delta will
    strengthen this evening and peak overnight tonight through
    Sunday morning with gusts as high as 45 mph. The strong
    persistent winds off the Bering Sea are expected to lead to
    higher water levels and an increased chance of minor flooding
    during time of high tide on Sunday.
  - Water levels look lower than what was observed during the
    August 18 through August 19 flood event. Thus, flood impacts
    do not look like they will be as severe as they were during
    the August storm.
  - Though high water and possible minor flooding is expected at
    most villages along the lower Kuskokwim river from Bethel
    downriver during this timeframe, Napakiak has historically
    experienced the most severe impacts in this region during up
    river surge events. Tuntutuliak is also favored for flooding
    in this scenario.
