293 WWPQ82 PGUM 140716 SPSPQ2 Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Tiyan GU 516 PM ChST Thu Nov 14 2024 FMZ037-141930- Yap- 516 PM ChST Thu Nov 14 2024 ...TROPICAL STORM MAN-YI WEST-NORTHWEST OF YAP AND MOVING AWAY... ...CONDITIONS TO GRADUALLY IMPROVE OVERNIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING... Recent visible satellite imagery shows that the center of Tropical Storm Man-yi is now west-north west of Yap, and is still moving west-southwest this evening. The heavy outer bands of showers and thunderstorms are starting to move west of Yap, but numerous showers isolated thunderstorms are still expected through the early overnight hours, and then decreasing, along with winds, as Man-yi continues to move away from Yap. Based on latest observations, the gale warning was allowed to expire, and a small craft advisory is now in effect and will continue through Friday afternoon, unless conditions quickly improve overnight as Man- yi moves away. A high surf advisory and coastal flood statement continues through tonight as surf will still be elevated as breezy winds shift south and southeast, but condition are expected to improve by the Friday morning. Farther east, showers and thunderstorms have decreased Ulithi and Fais and winds have shifted more towards the southeast. Conditions should have been gradually improving since this morning and will continue to do so overnight. This will be the last Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service unless there are significant changes to the forecast.
